ALL ABOUT OUR HARD/BIMINI TOP COVERS

WHAT IS THE HARD TOP BOAT SHAPE?

A hardtop boat features a solid, rigid overhead structure that extends from the front to the back, typically tapering toward the rear for reduced wind resistance. It is slightly raised above the deck, providing headroom and shelter over the cockpit and seating areas. The sides can be straight or slightly curved, often with built-in support frames that blend with the boat's hull, combining functionality with a sleek, modern appearance.

How to Measure for a Hardtop Bimini Cover

Start at the Bow: Measure from the point where the bow rails meet. Run the measuring tape tightly over the bimini, hardtop, or rocket launchers, extending it to the back of the boat.

Outboard Motor: If you have an outboard motor, measure over the top of the motor down to the bottom of the cowling, making sure the motor is in the stored position.

Add for Drop: Once you have this measurement, add 0.75 meters to account for the drop from the bow rails.

Select the Right Cover: Choose the cover size closest to your total length. The cover should be at least 2 meters longer than your boat, and the width will need to cover the hardtop and other structures, so it will be wider than the boat’s straight width.

Proper Coverage: These covers are designed to give good coverage along the sides of your boat, ensuring a proper fit and protection.

How to Install a Hardtop Bimini Cover Using a Ratchet System

Gather Your Tools: Ensure you have a ratchet system, ratchet straps, and any necessary hardware for installation.

Prepare the Area: Clear the area around the hardtop and ensure the cover is laid out flat without any twists or folds.

Position the Cover: Align the cover over the hardtop, making sure it is centered. Ensure any front and back markings are correctly oriented.

Attach Ratchet Straps: Start at the front of the cover and attach the ratchet straps to the mounting points on the boat, typically on the sides or at the back of the hardtop.

Tighten the Ratchet System: Use the ratchet mechanism to evenly tighten the straps. Be careful not to overtighten to avoid damaging the cover or mounting points.

Adjust as Needed: After the cover is taut, check for snugness without sagging or loose areas, and adjust the straps as necessary.

Final Checks: Ensure the cover is properly aligned and all straps are securely fastened before using the boat.
